Preparing for Meaningful and Effective Congregational Response
Six Questions Congregations Need to Answer About Community Safety in this Moment
Meaningful, effective response requires us to engage in faithful, values-based risk assessment and discernment that recognizes our unique landscape and community. Ask: 1) WHAT is the opportunity/threat? 2) WHO makes and/or is impacted by any decisions? 3) WHERE is our capacity? 4) HOW is our community affected? 5) WHEN will decisions [need to] be made? 6) WHY is our faith calling us to this discernment?

Climate Resilience
How can we center the inherent worth and dignity of every person in climate disasters?
We can use our gifts to offer love, to work for justice, to heal injury, to create pleasure for ourselves and others. We can recognize our mutual independence with all life. We can take actions that are grounded in justice, guided by wisdom, and sustained with hope. We can learn, act, and reflect to cultivate the beloved community.
Toolkit for Fostering Local Climate Resilience and Community CareIn Times of Climate Disasters
Every community is different, and climate impacts will vary at the hyper-local level. Some neighborhoods may be devastated by a hurricane while others experience only minor impacts. Adequate preparation and response for climate disasters must center the lived experiences and impacts of climate disasters on those most at risk.
Protest-Related Arrests and Prosecutions
The more we show up on the frontlines of justice movements, the more we risk arrest, incarceration, and prosecution. Depending on our real or perceived demographics, many of us already face these risks on a regular basis. Meanwhile, as our collective commitment to justice grows, state and corporate suppression of dissent is also growing.
