Some of us know that there is a connection between Unitarian Universalism (UU) and Kwanzaa, but we know very little about it. There mention of a UU contribution to Kwanzaa in the video,Wilderness Journey,which is about the Black Empowerment Controversy and our Association. The Wilderness Journey can be seen on YouTube. Here, Dr. Mtangulizi Sanyika, a UU leader in the 1960s—previously known as Haywood Henry—reflects on that period and shares his perspective, so that we can speak about Kwanzaa with a better understanding of how it intersected with UU history.
