Potential conflict between UUA Theme and Wordpress 5.5
So far, I have updated four UU sites to Wordpress 5.5.
In all of them, I have lost the ability to change the configuration in the Appearance>>Customize screen.
Has anyone else had an issue with this?

THANK YOU!!! <-- intentionally shouting ;-)
That fixed the problem on my dev site.
Whew!
Thank you, yes the Kirki plugin fixed the issue for me also!
We just released version 1.3.2 of the WordPress theme, which should solve the problem. Thanks, Kevin Vess!
Margy - Is there a list somewhere of what the latest update entails? When I clicked on the link for more details, I got what appeared to be an ad for Kernl.
The "view version details" link has been updated to point to the Version History page on the UUA.org site.
However, the iframe popup does not currently work. If you want to use that link, make sure to open in a new window to view the details.
Thanks!
The list of releases and what they include is here:

I don't know how to get Kernl (the system that releases the theme) to link to it!
I have a couple dev sites that are running version 1.3.2 of the UUA theme. The Customizer still doesn't work correctly. At first glance, it appears to work correctly, because you can see the list of areas to customize: Site Notice, Theme Colour Options, etc., but several of them don't show anything but introductory text when you click on the option.
Theme Colour Options just says "Configure the site colour scheme"
Congregation Map just says "Make changes to the information for maps"
Header Options just says "Make changes to the site header"
etc.
Some of the options work; some don't.
When I install and active the Kirki Customizer Framework plugin, everything works as expected.
In my test environment I see the same problem with version 1.3.2 of the UUA theme as annezzell reports. I see the problem with both version 5.4.2 of Wordpress and version 5.5.1.
We just released a new version to address these issues with the Customizer. Please update to version 1.3.3 and let us know if you're still experiencing any issues.
Thanks!
<fingers crossed> I updated the UUA theme on one of my dev sites that's running a child theme and was able to deactivate and then delete the Kirki Customizer Framework without losing customizer functionality.
Here's hoping...
Thank you Kevin, version 1.3.3 works fine in my test environment now.
