How does Our Whole Lives engage parents as the primary sexuality educators of their children?

All Our Whole Lives (OWL) programs for children and for youth include a parent orientation with an overview of the program. The orientations give parents tips for talking about sexuality issues which may come up at home as a result of Our Whole Lives classes. The parents are often in regular communication with the Our Whole Lives facilitators and the congregation’s religious educator. The Parent Guide to Our Whole Lives is a critical resource for parents of children in Our Whole Lives for Grades K-1 and 4-6. Many congregations offer additional workshops for parents of youth taking OWL. An end of year game between parents and youth is a way some groups celebrate this family connection.
