Credentials and Absentee Ballots for General Assembly
Receiving Credentials and Absentee Ballots
Delegate credentials are mailed to certified congregations in late February. Credentials are mailed in bright pink 9x12" envelopes. As 2013 is an election year, absentee ballots are also included in this mailing, one per delegate. If your certified congregation does not receive its credentials by mid-March, contact the General Assembly Office at generalassembly@uua.org or (617) 948-4209.
When you receive the mailing check to make sure that there is a credential card for each of your congregation’s eligible delegates, including eligible parish ministers, community ministers, ministers emeritus/a, and religious educators having achieved CRE-ML status.
Distributing Credentials and Absentee Ballots
Be sure that credential cards and the attached ballot stubs are signed by a minister or a church officer before they are distributed to your delegates.
Distribute absentee ballots along with the signed credential card to any of your delegates who wish to vote absentee. Instructions printed on the ballot must be strictly followed in order to insure that the ballot will be valid. Note: All off-site delegates must vote absentee. Electronic voting is not permitted in the elections.
