The Muslim religion was begun by a prophet named Mohammed. When he was a young man, he had to leave
. His beliefs about many things were so different from most of the people in
that he could not stay there. He had to leave many members of his family behind. Mohammed did this because it was very important to him to be free to follow his own beliefs. Later, he was able to come back to
, bringing his own beliefs with him.
Before telling the story, ask if any of the children have heard of Mohammed or
