Property Crisis: Too Much Property, Too Little Money
General Assembly 2007 Event 2058Presenters: Glenn Maxwell, Colleen Dolan-Greene
Urban church, shrinking congregation, and rising expenses means financial disaster. With 90 years of history what can we do? Steps to convince the congregation to sell property, move into a smaller space, reduce expenses, become financially viable and build a new foundation for the future.
But the important thing is not the outcome. The important thing is the process.
- How did the task force coalesce?
- How was conversation utilized in the task force and with the congregation?
- What did we do to communicate with the congregation?
- How did we finally clarify issues that were thirty years old?
Our hope is that these insights may help you in a similar situation.
This work is made possible by the generosity of individual donors and congregations. Please consider making a donation today.
