Stories for Worship

Good stories are central to good worship. As a "Time for All Ages," as part of a sermon, or as part of a multigenerational service, stories engage our hearts and minds and help us grow.

Stories from Unitarian Universalist (UU) Sources

  • Words for Worship's story section includes several stories and plays (below).
  • Tapestry of Faith stories: browse the alphabetical list (over 450 stories for children, youth, and adults), or search:
  • Story anthologies for children from the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) Bookstore.

Commercial Storybooks with UU Values

An extensive children's book bibliography (PDF, 22 pages) compiled by UU Minister Rev. Paul Beckel lets you explore the themes of more than 350 stories available in libraries or for purchase.

Additionally, local children's librarians often relish the challenge of helping patrons find the perfect book.
