Affirmations / Covenants / Doxologies: “Credo for New Apostles”
I believe in One God:
That is, the heaven we make on earth.
And in all the prophets and saviors, the begotten children of all people,
Born under every banner and tribe, nation and state, parcel and plot,
Whose suffering, struggles, and wisdom free me from injustice,
And lift me up so that I, too, can lift others,
To create that beloved community, that heaven on earth,
So that all souls shall find peace, and joy, and freedom.
I believe in the Spirit of Life,
the worth and dignity of all people,
the need for compassion in our lives,
the redemptive power of love beyond belief,
and the endurance of the human spirit.
Amen.
