Samuel A. Trumbore
Let us turn inward to tend the fire of our spirit.
Are the sticks cold, charred, sooty black,
maybe even a little damp?
Or are a few glowing embers hiding
under a pile of ash?
Or are the flames licking the air
fed by red hot half-consumed logs
Add some kindling with your breath.
Toss on some branches by focusing your mind.
Light a match by opening your heart.
Together let us create a bonfire of love
to illuminate the troubled and the tremulous
wishing for their well being and
for the well being of all.
