Benedictions: “O God, we beseech you”
Also appropriate as Prayers
O God, we beseech you, by your great goodness defend us from all perils and dangers of this night, for the love of the world over which you watch. Support us, we pray, all the days of this troublous life, until the shadows lengthen and the evening comes, and the busy world is hushed, and the fever of life is over, and our work is done. Then of your goodness grant us a safe lodging, and a holy rest, and peace in our hearts. Amen.
