GA Travel

We’re looking forward to working with you in Spokane, WA for the 2019 General Assembly! All of your travel, lodging and food costs will be paid for by the UUA; using these instructions will ensure that you will not have to provide any advance payment and that the UUA gets the best rates. If you plan to book your travel using another method, let us know beforehand.

We encourage you to make your travel plans before TUESDAY, APRIL 16th.

No matter your travel method, please arrange to arrive in Spokane on Tuesday, June 18th in time for dinner together. Departure can be at any time on Monday, June 24th.

Out-of-Town Attendees—Making Your Travel Arrangements

Please book your reservations by TUESDAY, APRIL 16th by contacting Mike Crifo at PROTRAVEL International at mike.crifo@protravelinc.com or (800) 498-4881 or (617) 559-5512. The company offers negotiated discounts on airline flights and can also book train and bus reservations. Mike is expecting you to contact him and will know how to bill your flights to the proper UUA account, so it will require no payment on your part. When contacting Mike, please provide the following information:

  • your full name as it appears on your identification,
  • your birthdate,
  • the event you are attending,
  • your preferred departure location,
  • your preferred arrival and departure dates and times,
  • your preferred method of travel (plane, train, or bus).

If you plan to arrive before or leave after GA (perhaps to visit family/friends) -or- if you are departing to a different location than the one you left, you may still book your flight through PROTRAVEL, but the UUA does not hold responsibility for your costs outside of those dates. If there is a significant difference in the cost of the standard round-trip airfare, you will be expected to pay for that difference. Inform Sara Green as soon as you know what your travel plans are in this case.

Be sure to put Mike's phone number in your phone - if you end up having any problems with your flight like cancellations or missing a connection, call Mike directly and he can help you immediately.

Driving

If you are driving directly there, please meet us at the hotel DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Spokane City Center at 322 North Spokane Falls Court to arrive on Tuesday, June 18th in time for dinner. You will be reimbursed (up to the estimated cost of a round-trip plane ticket) for your mileage and parking according to the instructions below (“Extra Travel Expenses”). If you are using public transportation, you may be reimbursed in the same manner for those costs, as well.

Extra Travel Expenses

Should you incur any additional expenses on your trip (like a baggage-check fee or cab fare), please be sure to get a receipt for all your expenses while on your travels. If you have mileage, provide the starting-point and the ending-point of all trips. Submit them using the Travel & Expenses Online Form (more info available closer to GA) -or- send them to our office administrator Deborah Neisel-Sanders at youngadults@uua.org when you return home in order to receive reimbursement from the UUA for those expenses.

As always, if you have any questions or challenges, please contact Deborah at youngadults@uua.org or 617-948-4350 and she will be glad to help you through this process - that’s what she's here for!
