Our Abundance of Resources
UUA Governance & Management, Board of Trustees

At General Assembly, there will be a multitude of resources that will be available, and there is a wealth of very current resources that are available to congregations and covenanted communities facing challenges in today’s society. We also have newly updated resources online for congregational and covenanted community leaders:

  • The Commission on Institutional Change was was appointed last General Assembly to address issues of systemic racism within our Association and the changes needed to fulfill our multicultural mission. Their April report focused on the difficulties faced by religious professionals of color serving our congregations. The work of the Commission on Institutional Change continues, and with it come observations, recommendations, and opportunities for change. Visit its webpage periodically for updated information.
  • Materials curated for the work of dismantling white supremacy can be used in a variety of settings. The work of undoing oppressive cultural systems will take time, and these resources are designed for work over the long term.
  • Help is all around.  Our Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) staff, the Board, and other congregations and covenanted communities are all only a phone call or email away.  Some of our best work comes from collaboration with others, because none of us is in this work alone. You can always review the Board minutes and UU World covers our meetings as well.

There is a terrific resource, Staffing for Diversity, that you are encouraged to use. It offers lots of information around the topic of diverse staffing. We are bound together by covenant, and offer these suggestions in that spirit.

Converse with us…let us know…what you are curious about, what you want to know more about, and how we can strengthen our relationships. Come and be with us in Kansas City next month!
