Description of Activity
Youth continue their work toward becoming better allies.
Ask who brought back Handout 1, Ally Action 7, from the last workshop.
Solicit volunteers to discuss any actions they took to move toward Phase 8.
Ask youth to think for a few moments about the work they have done toward becoming an ally. What images or experiences did they find most meaningful? What were some of the hard parts? When did they experience clear insights? Were there moments of joy or happiness? Did they share this work with anyone or meet new people they otherwise would not have met? Invite youth to make notes on the back of the last handout, if they desire. Ask if anyone would like to share any of their reflections.
Say:
This is the end of our Faith in Action activity, but not the end of our commitment to be good citizens of the world and allies to those seeking justice. As Unitarian Universalist, we are called to help create the world we dream about. I hope you continue to heed this call.
Ask youth if they would like to make a commitment to continue this work. If so, they could use the back of the handout to list next steps.
