The most important criteria for leading Our Whole Lives programs are characteristics such as maturity, knowledge, character, skills, and commitment. These qualities and experiences tend to increase with age, so the UUA sets age 25 as the minimum for Unitarian Universalist Our Whole Lives facilitators at the Elementary and Secondary grade levels of the curriculum. Age 21 is the minimum for Young Adult and Adult facilitators, in order to make young adult peer facilitation possible.
United Church of Christ and secular facilitators must be at least 21 years old to register for a training.
See "What are the criteria for selecting good facilitators for Our Whole Lives?" for more details. Our Whole Lives training and background checks are also required for responsible leadership.
