Director of Religious Exploration - Marysville, WA

The Evergreen Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (EUUF) is looking for a new Director of Religious Exploration (DRE).

We are a small congregation in a rapidly growing and diversifying area. Given the changing character of the area, we would love to hire a DRE who can help the program grow in size, vitality, and diversity.

We currently have about 5-20 children and youth (pre-k through middle school) in the program on a Sunday morning. There’s a lot of excitement around intergenerational activities, such as a monthly “Stone Soup” potluck lunch following the worship service, quarterly intergenerational worship services, and periodic all-ages game nights. We would love to re-build our youth group and get more high school-age involvement.

We tend to be quite involved in congregational life - including, for instance, 20 folks in the choir, 50+ folks in small group ministry, and strong involvement from parents in the RE program. Both intellectual and artistic, we believe strongly in the importance of a vibrant RE program and would love to have someone step into the position who is skilled at organizing people to make beautiful things happen!

Our minister is very collaborative and supportive of staff. Other staff with whom the DRE works (to varying degrees) are the Office Administrator, Nursery Caregiver, Bookkeeper, Choir Director, and Accompanist.

We are located in the heart of downtown Marysville - 25 miles north of Seattle and just outside of Everett, WA - with easy access to I-5. We draw congregants from all over the county (and a bit beyond) and would love to have a talented DRE to help us grow the program!

You can read the full job description here and read a bit more about the congregation and the area here. To apply, please e-mail a resume and cover letter to employment [at] evergreenuu [dot] org - we look forward to talking with you about what we might do together.
