Racial tensions exist in our Unitarian Universalist faith and our local congregations--from staffing to interactions amongst members. How can we use the spiritual resources we have to curb microaggressions when they arise? What are some of the tools we can use to dismantle White Supremacy culture? How can we build inclusion and equity by both increasing our intercultural competency and practicing cultural humility?
Join us for a day-long interactive workshop as we frame this sacred work grounded in our Principles and progressive theology. We will spend the day reviewing the Intercultural Development Continuum and going over your results for the Intercultural Development Inventory. We will then have an opportunity to caucus followed by diving deeper into microaggressions and White Supremacy culture. We will end the day with some concrete goals and implement a plan to become a more racially just faith tradition.
Check-in and light breakfast at 8:30 am. Program starts at 9.
