Chris George

Chris George serves on the Pacific Western Region's Healthy Congregations Team. She has served on numerous church committees as a lifetime UU and as Board President in Oklahoma City and Tacoma. Chris has always felt that UU church calls her to focus on the wider world outside her own daily life and to bring her UU values into her public service. Chris has served on numerous nonprofit boards over the years including Federally Employed Women in southern Oregon, Planned Parenthood of Central Oklahoma and the YWCA in Tacoma. After 25 years in federal service, she was a leadership development consultant in the US and internationally before retiring. She currently does occasional leadership development consulting in the northwest. In her spare time she has been so grateful to have had the opportunity to help an immigrant from Rwanda for the past three years as he gets launched in the US culture and workforce. Chris lives with her husband Rob and their dog Beau in Tacoma. One of their favorite shared pastimes is walking on the interior trails in Point Defiance Park.
