A Series of Small Group Reflections
We will continue with our third session on December 11 and continue on second Wednesdays from 7:00-8:00(ish)pm ET through May 2025.
As Unitarian Universalists recently affirmed seven Shared Values that define our faith, this series explores each one, using a podcast episode from a diverse list of pods as the "text" to generate thought, discussion, and learning together. Please find information on our previous gatherings, including our shared covenant, on our resources page.
Our first two sessions yielded rich conversations about how to inhabit the world in alignment with our values. We welcome back those who have joined before and encourage those who have not yet joined to engage in the conversation!
In December, we will focus on our shared value of Justice:
“We work to be diverse multicultural Beloved Communities where all thrive. We covenant to dismantle racism and all forms of systemic oppression. We support the use of inclusive democratic processes to make decisions within our congregations, our Association and society at large.”
Our “text” will be from the podcast What is Owed? by WGBH. The episode is the first: When a City Tries to Heal Itself. To find a transcript, click on “transcript” on the linked episode page.
**Content note: this episode includes audio from the recording of the murder of George Floyd**
We will open the Zoom room at 6:20pm to stream the episode during an optional pre-gathering listening session. Come prepared to listen and share ideas in our learning community! The gathering officially starts at 7:00pm.
Sign up to join! Sign up only required once. Once you have filled out the form, you will automatically receive links to the episodes, any other resources, and the Zoom links for each gathering. We will continue to gather through May on the second Wednesday of the month from 7:00-8:00(ish)pm, with the optional pre-gathering listening session.
