UUA Disaster Relief Fund

storm damages house

This past month has brought a number of floods and tornadoes to our Region. Almost half of the states in our Region have seen major flooding and several other states are in danger of moderate flooding. In the last few weeks, tornadoes touched down in Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Indiana, Ohio, and Nebraska.

The UUA has resources to help impacted congregations including the UUA Disaster Relief Fund which provides funds for:

  • Damage to congregations’ buildings, and relocation to temporary locations

  • Damage to members/friends homes, and relocation expenses

  • Donations to local partner organizations that serve the community at large, particularly those who would not be eligible for other funding

  • Immediate needs such as food, clothing, shelter, sanitation, and healthcare.

The application process is simple and found here: https://www.uua.org/finance/grants/disaster-relief-grants. Applications can be filled out by Presidents, Boards, and Ministers of Congregations.

Natural disasters are also traumatizing. If you, your congregation, or someone you love needs emotional help now or in the future, here are resources for adults, children, and congregations: https://www.uua.org/safe/response.

Finally, donations to the UUA Disaster Relief Fund can be given here: https://giving.uua.org/disaster-relief.

As always, be in touch. We are here for you.
