Transitions in Ministerial Transitions Support

As part of the other transitions in the Region (Ian’s retirement, the addition of Cameron Young, departure of Peg Boccard), we’re also switching up who is supporting our congregations while they are in ministerial transitions. We are delighted to welcome Christine Purcell, a member of the Southern Regional staff, who will take over the Transitions Program Manager work from Lisa Presley. This is another partnership with the Southern Region—we’re now working collaboratively through the work of Nancy Combs-Morgan, Cameron Young, Kathy Charles, and Christine Purcell.

Christine has worked for our UUA since 2011, when she began working for the Southeast District. Since she was given the transitions portfolio in the Southern Region a few years ago, she has worked closely with the Transitions Office to update the MinistrySearch system and resources related to search. She also supports the New England Region with their ministerial transitions work. She says, “Working across regional lines allows me to focus on the work I love most, supporting congregations in ministerial search. I’m delighted to have the opportunity to serve in MidAmerica!”

She currently lives with her family in Knoxville, TN. She enjoys cooperative strategy games, home improvement projects, and playing baritone ukulele and guitar in her spare time
