“Green burial” is the ancient, environmentally sound and sustainable way to return to the earth when we die. Heritage UU Church in Ohio, is putting our principles into action by purchasing and preserving 40 beautiful acres of farmland outside Cincinnati to create a nature sanctuary and green burial ground for our region. To raise money for this effort, Heritage UU has posted a Faithify campaign that you can contribute to at https://faithify.org/projects/growing-green-burial-the-uu-way/.

To date they have raised a little more than $250,000 of the $300,000 purchase price. The Faithify proposal is seeking just one percent of the total amount needed to buy and preserve this land — $3,000. MidAmerica is supporting this by contributing at least $300 toward their campaign goal using funds raised through our Chalice Lighter program.
