Dear MidAmerica Chalice Lighter,

The MidAmerica Chalice Lighter Committee is pleased to announce the recipient of the Fall 2023 Chalice Lighter Call: All Peoples, a Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Louisville, Kentucky.

Formed in 2020, the mission of the Justice Center at All Peoples is to “develop the capacity of our congregation and surrounding communities to engage in meaningful justice advocacy and activism.” Since then, the Justice Center has proven to be an impactful way for All Peoples to reach out into the broader Louisville Community, make connections, and demonstrate their faith in action in a visible and accessible way. This Chalice Lighter grant will support the work of the Justice Center in the coming year in areas such as voting rights, voter registration and mobilization, congregational organizing, and offering of classes and workshops to help support the development of concrete skills and cultivate confidence amongst people of faith to engage in meaningful justice advocacy and activism.

The funds from the Fall Call will help support the congregation’s Justice Center as it continues to create accessible opportunities for people within the congregation, from partner congregations, and from the general communities around All Peoples to engage in various efforts to advance justice.

For this year’s Fall Call, please donate by December 31, 2023.

There are several ways you can participate in the Chalice Lighter program, with four suggested levels of donation:

• $20 Believer
• $50 Builder
• $100 Benefactor
• $250 Beacon

These are amounts that would be donated three times each year upon receipt of the Call Letters for the Fall, Winter and Spring Calls.

If you’d prefer, for tax purposes, to make one donation per year (please send the $60 minimum donation or any greater amount to be divided among the next three Calls), you can send in your check now, and we will hold the funds and divide them equally across the three Calls. If you want to make an annual donation, please be sure to note “Annual Donation” in the memo field of your check.

There are two ways to donate to the Fall 2023 Chalice Lighter Call.

• Donate at the Chalice Lighter webpage, or
• Write a check out to MidAmerica Region UUA. Please note “Chalice Lighters Fall 2023 Call” or “Annual Donation” in the memo line and send it to the MidAmerica Region UUA, 2355 Fairview Ave N #312, Roseville, MN 55113.

Whichever way you choose, please know that we are grateful for your generous support!

For those of you who are annual donors, you are receiving this Call Letter and will receive subsequent letters to keep you updated on what your funds are being used for as well as keep you informed about any changes in the Chalice Lighter Program.

You are not being asked to send more money once you have made your annual donation for a given calendar year unless you wish to do so.
