UUA President Signs Letter in Support of Middle East Peace

Joining a diverse group of prominent individuals and leaders, UUA President Peter Morales signed the letter in support of "bold American leadership to achieve a negotiated, sustainable resolution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict."
The letter commends President Obama's leadership, vision, and prioritization of peacebuilding in the Middle East and outlines principles to chart a path to a better future in the region.

On September 22, President Obama held tri-lateral meetings in New York with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Mahmoud Abbas to try and jump start final status negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians. In response to this effort, Christian leaders from a variety of traditions, along with their counterparts from the Jewish and Muslim communities, issued a statement of principles supporting President Obama's efforts to achieve a negotiated solution to the conflict.
