The India Chapter of the International Association for Religious Freedom (IARF) conducted a national conference in Pondicherry, India from the 26th to 27th of May, 2017.

Representatives from many states attended - giving all participants a good opportunity to interact with IARF activities, to exchange their views and discuss the issues of religious freedom and human rights. Eminent scholars, ministers of the state, religious leaders from different religions, and others were among the featured speakers. The topics addressed in the conference's program included peace and harmony, religious freedom and tolerance, unity and diversity in India, the role of youth toward global peace, and the role of religion towards a terrorism-free world.

The conference not only presented a rewarding opportunity for all to attend, but also allowed participants to refresh and gain knowledge from this experience that will be memorable for many years to come. Those who attended the conference were very pleased and requested for the leaders of the India Chapter of IARF to host more such programs.

Information about this recent IARF India Chapter Conference was gratefully shared with the UUA's International Office by the Rev. Harrison Kingsley, National Secretary of the India Chapter and minister at the Unitarian Christian Church in Chennai.
