When Crisis Calls to a Land of Milk and Honey: A Migration Justice Communion Service
Date: Passed: Sunday, October 21, 2018, 6:30 am - 7:30 am EDT
Each October the Unitarian Universalist Church of Olinda observes United Nations Sunday. On Sunday, October, 21, 2018 our faith community held a service focusing on our UU faith's work at the UU-UNO and the United Nations. This year's theme was migration justice. Olinda's UU-UNO Envoy, Karen Andersen Miller, delivered her sermon entitled "When Crisis Calls to a Land of Milk and Honey: A Migration Justice Communion Service." After hearing the message congregants were offered a communion served by Karen and our pastor, Reverend Rodrigo Emilio Solano-Quesnel. The communion consisted of gluten-free bread drizzled with honey or plain gluten-free bread and a communion glass of almond milk.
