When Crisis Calls - Advancing Just Migration for All
Our UN Sunday Service on October 21, 2018 was a celebration of United Nations Day, held on October 24 every year, and also a celebration of the Unitarian Universalist United Nations Office. We collected $1057 for the UU-UNO through our Share the Plate offerings. Lynda Wilson gave the sermon which included moving presentations by two refugees, one from South Sudan and one from Colombia. The Time for All Ages story focused on the work of the UN, and Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF boxes were distributed to the children in the Religious Education Classes. The choir sang a beautiful rendition of "The Road Home," and the congregation sang hymns that focused on migration themes, including "This Is My Song," "Building Bridges," and "Sound Over All Waters." A podcast of the sermon can be found at this link: http://uucbham.org/services/when-crisis-calls-advancing-just-migration-for-all/
