Legislative Immigration Reform
Our current immigration system is broken. About 11 million undocumented immigrants are living and working within U.S. borders without a path to legal status. They live in fear of massive raids, detentions and deportations and work in the shadows without employee protections. Our laws and quotas are currently designed to tear families apart rather than keep them together. Clearly we need immigration reform now.
The Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) affirms that any humane and just immigration reform legislation must encompass the six Principles of Humane Immigration Reform as adopted by the Interfaith Immigration Coalition of which the UUA is a member.
