Greetings to the Unitarian Universalist community! My name is Shanice Bryant and I am overjoyed to join the Unitarian Universalist Association Office at the United Nations this academic year. As an intern, I hope to use my privilege to work toward domestic and global liberation in historically marginalized communities while acquiring knowledge related to international policy.

Along with interning, I am a full time Master of Social Work candidate at New York University (NYU) in the one-year advanced standing program. I obtained my Bachelor of Social Work degree from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, GA. Throughout my studies I worked with various non-profit organizations related to reproductive justice, education inclusion, and access to resources for individuals experiencing poverty. I am a proud member of organizations that are devoted to service, including Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and National Association of Black Social Workers.

My work is centered around using purpose and humanity to dismantle oppressive systems and restore strength in those who have been dehumanized. I am passionate about eliminating inequalities in disenfranchised communities globally through promotion of civil and human rights and self-liberation. I am ecstatic to have this opportunity with the Unitarian Universalist Association to demonstrate my social work competencies and knowledge on a vast scale to aid in the improvement of others’ lives.

Thank you for welcoming me into the Unitarian Universalist family.

We're proud to introduce all of our 2020-2021 academic interns:
