What to pack? (Anything formal?)
By jdonatone

I'll be attending GA for the first time and serving as a delegate for my congregation.  I'm traveling extremely light to keep within my budget (and to make room for all the books I'm sure I won't be able to pass up) and I'm wondering if there is any need for anything formal or business casual?  My default is "smart casual" will that suffice?

Love and gratitude,

Joe

It is pretty casual; even the awards ceremonies, etc., are not very formal.  There are probably occasions when the T-shirt slogan should be covered up. . . .think comfort and simplicity.  Last year in New Orleans, I lived in a simple sleeveless cotton dress or a pair of shorts and either T-shirt or other casual top.

I wear capris and a t-shirt to more or less everything. I hear that Spokane is hot. However, the convention center rooms can be freezing, so be sure to bring a sweater or wrap. Comfortable shoes are key! And a water bottle.
