Love Marches in Georgia Against Anti-Immigrant Legislation

On July 1, Georgia’s new state immigration law went into effect, following a federal court judge’s decision to enjoin a couple of the provisions, but allowing for most of them, similar to the law passed in Arizona last year. In response, Unitarian Universalists took part in a protest march and rally beginning at the state capitol on Saturday, July 2. Many wore yellow Standing on the Side of Love t-shirts, and the crowd was estimated at 10,000 to 15,000 people.
