Georgia Minister's Hunger Strike Protests Immigration Law
Rev. Jeff Jones joined two Georgia men, Salvador Zamora and Martin Altamirano, in protesting their state's anti-immigrant legislation by fasting for seven days. “I want to stand in affirmation with them and the inherent worth and dignity of every person,” said Jones, minister of the Emerson Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Marietta. “We’re living the struggle of the civil rights movement. We have to keep lifting up what we value.”
