Spiritual Sustenance and Fun Overnight
What feeds your spirit? How does your spiritual appetite change in times of joy, crisis, stress or grief? How do we spiritually nourish our communities? We may be fairly hungry by the end of this day-long workshop as we look at how personal spiritual practices and justice seeking can inform how we present worship experiences in youth group, youth conferences and to our congregations. Participants should come away with ideas to explore and deepen their own spiritual practices, an understanding of how worship serves them personally and the communities they are a part of, as well as some concrete ways to create worship experiences for others.
This event is for Senior High Youth in grades 9-12 or their homeschool equivalent. Adults who support youth and collaborate with them in creating worship are encouraged to attend.
The Spiritual Sustenance Workshop will be from 10am-6pm followed by a social overnight hosted by the Beacon Youth Group. Registration includes 2 meals on Saturday, breakfast on Sunday and snacks. Sleeping will be at the church, bring bed rolls, etc. Pick up on Sunday will be 9am.
Weather and schedule permitting, the youth attending this event may walk to the park nearby as a group.
Capacity for this event is 40 youth. If the form is closed and we are not yet at the deadline, please contact the registrar to be placed on the waiting list. The required youth to adult ratio is 8:1.
