Sponsor: Central East Region of the UUA, Cedar Lane UU Church, Bethesda, MD, UUA Ministries and Faith Development: Youth and Young Adult Ministries Office

Are you beginning to feel the winter “ho-hums”? School, work, and the state of the world getting you down? Need some inspiration and excitement in your life? Curious about justice work, spiritual practice and how the two are connected? Or just feeling the need to spend some quality time with a bunch of other UU youth, playing, learning, laughing, worshiping and being yourself?

The Central East Region is excited to host YMR2019! We’re planning with Youth and YA leaders, community partners, local musicians, UUA and congregation staff to bring you a dynamic and inspiring event.  Some of the things attendees can expect to experience: dynamic, interactive worship; creative expression through visual arts, spoken word music and song; workshops with community organizers and activists; community circles for building deeper connections and relationships; identity circles for sharing and exploration; spiritual practices to take back with you. As we confirm our schedule and guests we’ll update our website so please keep checking back. For questions about the program or schedule please contact Shannon Harper at sharper [at] uua [dot] org.

The Youth Ministry Revival 2019: Answering the Call of LOVE, is being organized by the UUA Youth Ministry Roundtable and Central East Region Staff and hosted by Cedar Lane Unitarian Universalist Church, Bethesda, Maryland.

YMR2019 is for youth in 9th-12th grades and adult sponsors 25 and older in the United States and Canada.

The ratio for YMR2019 is 5 youth per adult. There is a cap of 125 participants.

Registration will begin Friday at 7 pm and programming starts at 8 pm. We will end on Sunday around lunchtime.

Cost: The actual cost of YMR2019 per attendee is $120. This cost covers food, supplies, and compensation for workshop presenters, spiritual leaders and community partners. Due to grants from the UUA Youth and Young Adult Office we were able to bring this cost down to $105 per person. Registration fees will be accepted on a sliding scale from $80 to $140, please pay what you are able. Remember, for a sliding scale to work, an equal number of people need to pay on both the lower end and the upper end of the scale.

Waivers, Scholarships and Travel Assistance: We encourage attendees to talk with their congregations and regional staff about opportunities for assistance with registration fees and travel expenses. Central East Region attendees can apply for a $25 fee waiver as indicated on the registration form.

The UUA Youth and Young Adult Office has provided additional grant money to support registration and travel for Youth, Young Adults and Adults of Color. Please contact Shannon Harper (sharper [at] uua [dot] org) to inquire about this.

Housing: Participants, adult and youth, will be sleeping at the church. All meals during the training will be provided at the church.

Bring: Sleeping bag, air mattress, comfortable clothes, toiletries
