Join us to jump-start this leap into our UU Youth Future. This all day event, 10am to 10pm, will include many ways to get to meet and know more about other UUs in the area. We will dig up some CON culture favorites with songs, games, workshops, a talent-no talent show, crafts, community service to support Urban Hope (watch this video to learn about Urban Hope's work), youth worship, and food!
What do you want from this larger youth community for the FUtUre? We are going to brainstorm some ideas for our next gatherings too.
Jump into the UU future of youth!
The SouthWest UU Church is hosting a youth Back to the FUtUre Con, April 1, 2023. This event is open to youth in middle or high school (grades 7-12, ages 12.5-18). Youth need to attend with an adult sponsor so we can maintain the 5 youth to 1 adult ratio.
Note: This event is being planned, run and managed by the SouthWest UU Church and the cluster DREs, following the UUA Youth Safety Guidelines. All questions need to be directed to the registrar, Jenni Papp at dre@uufwc.org.
Some have asked, "What happened to Youth CONs? Are they in the past?" We say, "NO! It's time for the Back to the FUtUre CON for UU youth in the Ohio Meadville area."
COVID Protocols:
Masks are welcome and are not required for this event. They will be available at the event.
Please note there is an inherent risk to being in a group during pandemic. If you are not feeling well or showing symptoms of illness please do not attend this event. If seasonal allergies are causing respiratory symptoms please wear a well fitting mask to ease others minds.
Self-Screening: Prior to leaving to travel to the event, all attendees should have a negative test for Covid-19.
Also, ask yourself the following questions:
- Have you had any COVID 19 symptoms in the last 10 days?
- Have you been in close contact with anyone exhibiting symptoms in the last 10 days?
Covid-19 is not the only communicable illness so please keep the safety of everyone in mind as you evaluate your health and wellness for this group event.
It is our intention to create a covenantal community that aims to be inclusive. Cost: 0-$25 sliding scale for youth. Please pay what you can. If you need a waiver, mark that on the form and assume it is approved. No charge for adults.
