Type of event: Training
This training is for both youth who are leaders or wishing to be leaders (14-18) and adults 25+ who are or want to be youth advisors or adult leaders in regional youth program.
The philosophy behind this training is one of youth empowerment: We seek to develop youth group leaders who can support the growth of youth leadership and who can work in adult-youth partnership. Congregations are encouraged to send any advisors who have not received this training AND are particularly encouraged to send teams of youth and adults. The ratio for this training is 8 youth per adult. There is a cap of 40 participants.
Cost: $60, includes meals and snacks, There is a $5 discount if you register as part of a team (at least three from a congregation, at least one adult and one youth). If you pay by credit card, the charge will be $61 to cover the credit card fees. If you cannot afford the fee for the training and need a full or partial waiver you may request that on the registration form. You will be notified if your request is denied. Please bring your partial payment with you. Payment must be made in cash or by check made payable to UUA-CER. You cannot make a partial payment via credit card.
Housing: Participants, adult and youth, are strongly encouraged to sleep at the church. Motels are nearby if sleeping at the church is not a possibility. If you plan to do this, please notify the registrar. All meals during the conference will be provided at the church.
Bring: Sleeping bag, air mattress, comfortable clothes, toiletries
If this is your first training or conference with the Central East Region, please read the Behavioral Expectations which describes our expectations of youth and adults attending youth events in the region and the CER Youth Event Procedures and Requirements. You will be asked about these documents in the registration process.
Registration opens January 1, 2018 and closes Saturday February 11 at midnight or when we reach 40 attendees, whichever comes first.
