Money Matters Learning Community
Type of event: Webinar
Sponsor: Central East Region of the UUA
Beginning in Fall 2017, Congregational Life staff from the Central East Region will host a monthly gathering of leaders and volunteers engaged in keeping our congregations financially healthy and sustainable. All are welcome but the targeted audience includes finance committee members, stewardship teams, treasurers, administrators and board members – anyone charged with collecting, spending, stewarding, or soliciting funds on behalf of the congregation. Patricia Infante will convene and facilitate the monthly sessions which will include time for introductions, a short presentation and discussion on a relevant topic, and a road map to resources for further learning. We’ll end with ample time for you to bring your success stories and questions to the group.
Planned topics include planning for a pledge campaign, year round stewardship, changes to the Annual Program Fund, financial software, staff compensation, how to use Faithify and others. We have invited guest presenters who are among the best equipped in our denomination to provide the most current and useful information available. Congregations of all sizes and means are welcome – we all have much to learn from one another.
We will meet online using the zoom platform on the Second Monday of each Month beginning on September 11, from 7-8:30 pm. The topic for the first meeting is “Fall Calendar for the Annual Pledge Campaign.” We will go over some of the tasks you should be working on now to ensure a well-planned and effective pledge drive in 2018. Monthly topics will be posted in advance on the CER facebook page and in our regular newsletter. Pre-registration is not necessary and there is no charge for participating. Meetings will be recorded and archived for viewing later.
