Would you like to learn how to encourage your members, friends, and supporters to shape the future of Unitarian Universalism and to make a difference through legacy giving?

Join us for a workshop at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax, VA. Jay Pacitti, Donor Relations Director at the Unitarian Universalist Association, will present the basics of legacy giving and best practices for building a healthy legacy giving program in your congregation.

This workshop will consist of a morning presentation, Q&A, and optional small work group sessions in the afternoon that will enable your congregation or UU organization to move forward on concrete projects, whether you are revitalizing an existing program, or just starting out.

The workshop will be led by Jay Pacitti, UUA Donor Relations Director,  a former litigation attorney who entered the nonprofit sector 16 years ago, and joined the UUA as Legacy Gifts Officer in March 2017. Jay spent many years as the Executive Director of small nonprofit organizations focused on lesser-known health issues. Jay lives in Kennebunk, Maine with his spouse, the Rev. Lara Campbell, and their beagle, Maddy.

All are welcome! This workshop is designed for board members, ministers, fundraising volunteers, legacy giving committee members, and finance committee members who want to learn about soliciting, managing, and stewarding legacy gifts to ensure that Unitarian Universalism is answering the call of love for generations to come. Please note: other individuals are welcome, but should be aware that this workshop will focus on organizational planning, and will not address personal planning questions.

As learning takes root more effectively when two or more people from the same religious community attend, you are encouraged to attend this workshop as a team.

The cost of this event is free.

If you cannot attend and would like to view a previously recorded webinar for this workshop, please contact the UUA’s Legacy Gifts Team at legacy [at] uua [dot] org.
