Type of event: Training

Sponsor: Central East Region of the UUA, UU Congregation of Princeton, Princeton, NJ

Do you welcome? Want to know how to better welcome people of various identities to our UU communities? Through experiential learning, this workshop aims to help greeters and membership professionals better anticipate the needs and wishes of guests by staying open to hearing them. We'll learn how to move away from our assumptions and become better accustomed to putting those preconceived notions on hold in favor of authentic listening and acceptance. Open to anyone who welcomes, especially greeter teams and Membership professionals.

This workshop is brought to you by Patricia Infante, CRE, and Rev. Dr. Hope Johnson, CER Congregational Life Consultants.

Based on a resource created by Janice Marie Johnson, Rev. Alicia Forde, Susanna Whitman, and India McKnight for the Unitarian Universalist Association. (PDF)

Cost is $25 and includes lunch.

Deadline for registration is August 16, 2019.
