High School OWL Weekend
Type of event: Training
This is a pilot High School OWL Weekend for grades 10-12, hosted by the UU Congregation of Columbia and the UU Congregation of Frederick. This event is open to youth (ages 15-19) from congregations in the Mid Atlantic Area (formerly the Joseph Priestley district).
Our goal is to prepare high school students with the tools they need for healthy relationships and healthy sexual expression as they move through high school and into young adult years.
Join us for one of two themes:
- Relationships (Communication, Healthy Relationships, Consent, Breaking Up)
- Safer Sex (Contraception, STIs, Pregnancy & Options, Sexual Decisions).
A maximum of 20 participants in each track. Cost is $50 per youth, adult sponsors are free.
Check-in begins at 7:00 pm on Friday, April 20th. Orientation begins at 8:00 pm.
The event ends at 9:00 pm on Saturday, April 21st.
Optional event to view The Hunting Ground documentary from 9:00-11:00 pm on Saturday evening.
All parents or guardians must attend a Parent OWL Orientation in order for youth to be admitted to the event. Orientations are scheduled for Saturday, April 14, 7:00-9:00 pm in Columbia, and Sunday, April 15 2018, 12:45-2:45 pm, includes a light lunch for participants in Frederick.
