On January 14, 1867, our congregation was founded with the Bond of Union. On January 14, 2017 we will mark our 150th anniversary with a celebratory service and reception at Trinity Cathedral in Cleveland, Ohio. This event brings together UU congregations from the greater Cleveland area to worship and celebrate our shared history. The service will be led by the current UUA moderator, Jim Key, in concert with local UU clergy.

First Unitarian invites guests and friends from the Central East region and beyond to join us in celebration at 4:00 pm on Saturday, January 14, 2017, at Trinity Cathedral (2230 Euclid Ave, Cleveland OH).

Keynote speaker Jim Key is the current moderator of the UUA General Assembly and chair of the UUA board of trustees. He has facilitated the organizing meeting for the Southern region of the UUA and served on several committees at the UUA, including chairing the Audit Committee. Jim is a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Beaufort, South Carolina. Jim has a compelling story to share. To read a bit more about him, visit

Currently celebrating its 200th year, Trinity Cathedral is the oldest Episcopalian congregation in Cleveland. A member of the Greater Cleveland Congregations, Trinity Cathedral’s mission is to proclaim in word and action God’s justice, love and mercy for all creation; and inspire, convene, organize, and participate in interfaith conversation and action for the rebuilding of a just and sustainable Greater Cleveland. The Cathedral itself is Cleveland’s first green building.
