Your Central East Region team wants your board to have everything it needs to help your congregation thrive! We are partnering with LeaderLab and the UU Institute to offer this robust board training, resources for you to self-facilitate your board retreat, plus facilitated live discussion sessions for your board members to connect with other board leaders across the region.

Equip Yourselves to Serve

With a few key habits, your board can work together effectively with more alignment with fewer misunderstandings. Each session will have an hour or less of online self-paced pre-work, which will be found in the UU Board Foundations training on the UU Institute. As part of your registration fee, you’ll get a registration code (no need to pay twice!) and full access to the online training.

Feel More Connected to the Wider UUA

You’ll spend about half of each of the four sessions with the same “cohort team” of board members from other congregations of a similar size. Share stories and challenges and brainstorm solutions with different perspectives.

Strategize with Your Board Team

Each session will end with time for your congregational “peer team” to discuss what you learned and how to apply it in your own congregation. You might think of this series as an extended board retreat.

We've Added New Content!

The UUA Congregational Life Staff LeaderLab team has refreshed and added to the content from previous versions of Helpful Board Habits to create the new UU Board Foundations, which contains the prework.

Two Weeknight Options

We hope to accommodate all of our Central East boards who wish to participate, so we are offering 2 different options.

Mondays from 6pm-8pm ET starting August 19, September 16, October 21, November 18. Register for the Monday Session Series today!

Thursdays 7pm-9pm starting August 22, September 19, October 17, November 21. Register for the Thursday Session Series today!

If neither of these evenings work for you, you can access the training materials on your own by registering for the UU Board Foundations training on the UU Institute.
