UUMAC, or the Unitarian Universalist Mid-Atlantic Community, gathers together for one week each year to build community and deepen our Unitarian Universalist faith through fun, friendship, music, dancing, learning and worship. We are an intergenerational community that uses this time to more thoroughly get to know each other and ourselves.
We meet each July on the campus of DeSales University, near Allentown, Pennsylvania, just north of Philadelphia. UUMAC lasts for one week, though many campers wish it were longer! As the name indicates, we are focused on Unitarian Universalists from the Mid-Atlantic States (NY, PA, NJ, DE, MD, VA, etc) but those from other states are welcome to join the fun! DeSales provides food, comfortable dorm housing, and buildings for our use. All three meals a day are included, and we accommodate dietary restrictions. At night, after the kids are in bed, we have Night Owls, where fun, games, and dancing continue into the wee hours. We share dorm supervision duty, so parents can participate, too!
Our week includes sharing, listening, building community, laughing, singing, thinking, reading, dancing, and getting to know each other. We enjoy both on- and off-campus activities, with everything from museums, nature trips, and plays off campus, to artistic pursuits, meditation, and dancing on campus. Families of all ages are welcome, and we have a robust program for children, youth, and young adults.
UUMAC is many things to many people: a spiritual retreat, time for reflection and celebration, a reunion with our friends, a time to revel in a community of fun-loving and like-minded people of all ages. Join us for a week which is as relaxing or action-packed as you like, and renew your spirit and expand your fellowship!
UUMAC 2020 will be July 12-18, 2020.
Registration will open in early 2020, and Early Bird registration will close April 17, 2020.
