And there are a number of ways you can participate - as a program presenter, volunteer, musician or more.
Have a program idea for GA 2021 that you think would be helpful to our congregations?
Submit a Program Proposal for the 2021 Virtual UUA General Assembly — June 23-27. We are looking for programs that are the best of the best - adding tremendous value to this experience. Proposed programs should provide meaningful opportunities for learning and skill development, as well as address one or more of the following focus areas - liberatory theology, grief and trauma healing, community of communities, preserving connection to Milwaukee, and social justice. Read the Program Proposal Guidelines. Proposals are due in two phases. Phase 1: Due January 15. Phase 2: Due January 29.
Have skills and interested in working with the GA Planning Committee and UUA staff to make GA happen online? The UUA is hiring a Virtual General Assembly Production Assistant. Application deadline is November 30. Read the job description (pdf) for details.
Need some financial help attending? Volunteers make GA happen and every year many earn registration fees by volunteering their time. Volunteer applications open December 1. Volunteers typically work 20 hours, including trainings. All will be expected to attend online trainings (one hour of Anti-Racism, Anti-Oppression, Multi-Cultural training and one to two hours of job-specific training) to be scheduled in May and June. Some (e.g., editors) will work before GA, others (e.g. moderators) will work mostly during GA. Read the full list of potential positions and learn more about the volunteer program.
Are you a musician and would you like to help create the music for the worship services and plenary sessions? Vocalists, instrumentalists, and groups interested in contributing to the worship experience of General Assembly (GA) should submit an application to the GA Music Coordinator and the GA Worship Arts Team. The deadline for applications is December 31. Read more about contributing as a musician.
Other ways you can contribute to the program of Generals Assembly - you can join the GA choir, propose a poster for the GA Virtual Poster Fair, or apply to be a GA Chaplain.
