It was a busy week, the week we were at General Assembly. Lots of news to share! For a complete round up of all the details of what happened please visit the UU World's GA blog where they posted about the daily activities of General Assembly.

Here are some highlights for those who did not attend:

The Statement of Conscience on Reproductive Justice was passed.

A bylaw amendment to make the Commission on Appraisal a committee of the board and no longer under the General Assembly failed, it will remain an independent body.

Actions of Immediate Witness passed on several subjects including:

  • Proposed AIW E: End Immigrant Child and Family Detention Now (Adopted)
  • Proposed AIW B: Act for a Livable Climate Climate (Adopted)
  • Proposed AIW A: Support the Black Lives Matter Movement (Adopted)

Cornel West delivered an electrifying Ware Lecture and the Synergy Worship Service and Bridging was very spirited.

You can view the video of all the plenary sessions, the Ware Lecture, the Public Witness event, worship services and more at the UUA website.

We were very pleased that our own Laura Howe issued the invitation to GA 2016 in Columbus, OH. Please make plans now to attend!
