Navigating Congregational Conflict Training

The Navigating Congregational Conflict three-session training will be offered in an online format on Fridays, 1/26, 2/2, and 2/9, 1-2:30pm ET / 12-1:30pm CT / 11-12:30 MT / 10-11:30am PT. The course will be led by Hope for Us team members Jess Hunt and the Rev. Jude Geiger. Registration is limited to 15 participants and the fee is $100, payable according to a sliding scale. Training Requirements
The Navigating Congregational Conflict course is an online learning experience comprised of three 1.5-hour webinars with reading and other assignments for each session. Credit will be offered for full participation in the training. Full participation includes:
- Online attendance at three 1.5-hour sessions;
- Reading and reflection to prepare for each session;
- Responses to Reflection prompts provided by facilitators; and
- Submission of final evaluation within a week of the ending of the module.
This training is one of the required educational opportunities for the Music Leadership Certification Program. It will not count as Renaissance credit for the RE Credentialing Program.
Goals of the Training
Participants will:
- Examine and practice ways to navigate healthy conflict as a leader
- Identify ways to work collaboratively with other leaders through conflict
- Investigate the ways healthy conflict aligns with UU values
- Increase interpersonal awareness using a Systems Theory lens
Technical Considerations
The webinar platform is Zoom, which you can download from Zoom.
In order register and access module materials, participants must have or create a UU Institute profile. On UUinstitute.org, click on “Log In/Register” at the top right and follow instructions on the page to Register. If you have already participated in a UU Institute training, you will be able to use the account you have already created once your facilitators add the course to your profile. In your course registration at the link below, you must provide the email address affiliated with your UU Institute account for facilitators to add you to the group and begin the preparation required before the first session.
