The Navigating Congregational Conflict course will be offered in in-person at the AUUMM 2024 Conference hotel in Albuquerque, NM on Wednesday, July 31 9am-5:00pm MT. The course will be led by Jess Hunt and the Rev. Jude Geiger, Hope for Us Conflict Engagement Team consultants. Registration is limited to 15 participants and the fee is $100 in advance, payable according to a sliding scale. Register here. Registration on-site will be $125. The registration deadline is July 6, 2024.
Training Requirements
The Navigating Congregational Conflict course is an in-person learning experience comprised of reading and preparation for your synchronous. Credit will be offered for full participation in the training. Full participation includes:
- Online attendance at three 1.5-hour sessions;
- Reading and reflection to prepare for each session;
- Responses to Reflection prompts provided by facilitators; and
- Submission of final evaluation within a week of the ending of the module.
This training is one of the required educational opportunities for the Music Leadership Certification Program. It will not count as Renaissance credit for the RE Credentialing Program.
Goals of the Training
Participants will:
- Examine and practice ways to navigate healthy conflict as a leader
- Identify ways to work collaboratively with other leaders through conflict
- Investigate the ways healthy conflict aligns with UU values
- Increase interpersonal awareness using a Systems Theory lens
