The Leadership of Congregational Singing course will be offered in in-person at the AUUMM 2024 Conference hotel in Albuquerque, NM on Tuesday, July 30 9-12:30 MT. The course will be led by Amanda Thomas. Registration is limited to 15 participants and the fee is $90, payable according to a sliding scale. Register here. The registration deadline is June 1, 2024.
Course Requirements
The Leadership of Congregational Singing course is an in-person learning experience comprised of one 3.5-hour synchronous session and both pre- and post-course assignments. Credit will be offered for full participation in the course. Full participation includes:
- Attendance at the entire synchronous session in Albuquerque July 30;
- Reading and reflection to prepare for the synchronous session;
- Successful completion of all pre- and post-course assignments; and
- Submission of final evaluation within a week of the ending of the module.
Course Description
This course will develop strong, effective, and inspiring leadership of hymns/songs for congregational singing. Through the use of both practical and written assignments, candidates will use a wide range of musical styles and techniques to help them broaden and deepen the worship experience of the congregations they serve.
