Love Reaches Out in many ways, and during the week of June 16–21 Blue Boat invites you to join high school youth of First Unitarian Universalist Church of Columbus and surrounding UU congregations on their Justice Trip learning about Reproductive Justice. –Ed.

Greetings from Columbus, Ohio!

And WELCOME to our Reproductive Justice Trip Daily Blog!

Over the course of a week in June, the high school youth of First Unitarian Universalist Church of Columbus and surrounding UU congregations will be learning about reproductive justice right here in our home state of Ohio. We will be hearing from local activists, learning about what exactly reproductive justice is, and collecting personal stories from people in our community about how their lives have been affected by reproductive justice.

Youth will create a video project highlighting these stories and to help make visible how personal this issue is for our congregation. We will be taking a trip to Cleveland to learn from a local abortion clinic, to hear about legislative issues in Ohio, and to learn about the history of contraception.

AND it will all culminate in a reproductive justice presence at Columbus PRIDE, where we will be leading our congregation's march and sharing information with our community about reproductive justice.

We will be keeping this blog during the week-long justice trip, where you will hear about youth experiences, read stories from our project, and see some of what we will be learning during this week in June. We can't wait to share this experience with you, so stay tuned!
