As Unitarian Universalists, social justice issues related to immigration reform are some of the most prominent that we are facing today in the United States. Our General Assembly in 2012 was focused on our commitments to justice and service. It culminated in a protest against the Maricopa County's "tent city jail," and Rev. John Creswell asking to go home and "start a little trouble in the name of justice." A chance for undocumented workers to step out of the dark recesses of fear and the paranoia that they may be separated from their loved ones and deported is a good thing.

 

 February 06, 2013. Comprehensive Immigration Reform.

This is an interesting time to be discussing immigration reform in the United States. A bipartisan group of senators has recently outlined a plan, supported by President Barack Obama. The details of the plan are represented in this graphic:
